Premier Communication Electronics (PCE) specialises in two-way radio and mobile communications. PCE has built its business upon supplying, installing and maintaining communication solutions for a wide range of public and private sector businesses and organisations. PCE supplies and maintains solutions to a variety of business sectors. These include attractions, shop/pub watch schemes, large site areas such as quarries, warehouses and college campuses, etc. PCE also supplies to the emergency services, local authorities and the National Health Service.

 

Company history

​

Previously known as PC Electronics Ltd, the company was established in 1976 and is an Exeter-based independently-owned company.

The business was originally formed in the outlying town of Crediton in the mid 1970s. It moved to premises in Bonhay Road, Exeter in 1995, when Karen Langley took over as Managing Director. PCE relocated to Sowton during 2002 and is now based at new spacious premises – Premier House – also on Sowton.

In 1997, PCE gained ISO 9001:2000 certification and has retained this status year on year to currently hold ISO 9001:2008.

In 2009, PCE were the first company to have an engineer accredited to Federation of Communication Services (FCS) Installer Training & Accreditation Scheme (FITAS), during this time PCE became a patron to FITAS and is extremely proud of the fact that their input was sought in producing the FCS1362:2010 (formerly known as MPT1362) industry guidelines. During the following years, PCE has been awarded the FCS Installer of the Year award on multiple occasions.

We constantly aim to offer the highest level of quality both in product and service, which is reflected in the company’s achievements of winning industry awards from the FCS and was named as the Express & Echo’s Small Business of the Year in 2012.
